Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Hi everyone! Today’s post is about a tag that I am quite excited about! Welcome to the Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag. I was tagged for this lovely post by Maya@BookDragon. Thank you so much for the tag! Please do check out her amazing blog!

Here we go with the questions –

How long have you been blogging?

I started on January 25th, 2017 – so my blog will be 5 months old in a week.

At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

I prefer not to think about this as blogging has provided me quite a lot of comfort these past few months. I do enjoy it quite a lot and hope to continue for as long as possible. I may have to take a few breaks while giving my University exams though, I suppose.

What is the best thing about blogging?

Blogging has helped me a lot in my life. At first, it was something I could fall back to when I was feeling lonely at my new college. Now its become equivalent to a readers paradise for me. I’ve never had so many people to fangirl with and go crazy over OTP’s and plot twists! I’ve also found my only source of excellent recommendations and I’ve begin to develop the critical eye of a reviewer which I love. Blogging really has helped me blossom as  a reader.

What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Well its not that bad, but I do find myself exhausted when I have to balance blogging with studies during exams. The first time was pretty tough, but before my second exam cycle, I made sure to schedule enough posts beforehand to get me through. I don’t like leaving my blog for too long which is why I hated the hiatus I recently had to take.

How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?

I don’t quite know how to make pictures, so usually I use pictures from online. However a few pictures that I have used of my own are the ones on my Travel Diaries and the one on my Header Image and I really quite love them.

Who is your book crush?

Do I only get one? Nooooo

I suppose it would have to be Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. Will ❤

What author would you like to have on your blog?

As cliche as this answer might be, J K Rowling! I recently began following her on Twitter and it just renewed my love for her. She’s an amazing woman and I would love to have her on my blog.

What do you wear when you write your blog post?

I’ve never paid much attention to that really. Usually I write whenever I get time, whether that’s between classes, while traveling to my grandparent’s place or just before sleeping. Usually though its before sleeping so I suppose I wear pajamas and a baggy T-shirt.

How long does it take you to prepare?

Again I’ve never counted. Usually, I don’t immediately write a post. Once I get an idea, I just open a draft and jot down words and hints that remind me what I wanted to write down. Later, once I get time, I elaborate upon those.

How do you feel about the book blogging community?

This whole community had been fabulous to me. I feel so at ease talking about all my bookish interest and even though I’ve just started out, I really want to make new friends online and interact more and more.

What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

I’m still learning about this but I think whats most important is that you give the required time and attention to it. If you’re just in it for the likes or follows, then you probably won’t get too much out of it. However, if you really truly enjoy what you write, you’re bound to feel more happier about yourself, as well as make many lovely friends among your fellow bloggers. Successful blogging should be more about how blogging improves you as a person, and not how it influences others.

And that’s pretty much it for the questions. Now for the nominations

Mandy@BookPrincessReviews

and of course you in case you want to do it!

Feel free to do this if you’d like, and no pressure to do it as it is. In case you’ve already been tagged for this – my bad! Thanks again Maya, for the tag. 🙂

Have a great day!

  2. Aww! This is such a lovely and inspirational post! Thank you for sharing! Likewise, if I got to choose an author it would definitely be J.K. Rowling. I feel as though Harry Potter and even The Casual Vacancy is a story that brings us, book bloggers, together. Many of us have grown up with Harry, Ron and Hermoine and I think it would be great to interview the writer behind the fantasy!
