Title – The Wife Between Us
Author – Greer Hendricks
Publisher – St. Martin’s Press
Genre – Thriller, Suspense, Mystery
My Rating – 4/5
A novel of suspense that explores the complexities of marriage and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.
When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement.
You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with the man she loves.
You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her.
You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships.
I received an e-ARC from NetGalley and the Publishers in exchange for an honest review. I think this one was closer to a 3.5 stars. Here’s what I thought –
I’m honestly at a loss for words. The ending to this book has me stymied. I really don’t know what to make of it.
Despite a slow beginning, the Wife Between Us was fast paced and had me reeling for the entire ending. I was definitely driven by the need to know what would happen next and that kept me up well into the night reading. There really isn’t much to say about the book without spoiling it, but I will say that it requires all your attention to keep up with it.
Honestly, I couldn’t relate to the characters much. They story was about marriage and divorce, and I am a 19 year old college student who hasn’t even dated. It took me a while to relate with them. I also accidentally guessed the first big reveal from the start, all because I didn’t read the names correctly – so my bad. I don’t think its a very YA book
Overall, I give The Wife Between Us 4 (3.5) stars.
And that’s all for today! Hope you have a great day! Until next time –
