Mid Year Book Freakout Tag

Hi everyone! Half of 2018 has already passed so it’s time for a mid year evaluation of my Reading Goals for which I found this fun little tag! Here we go –

Best book you’ve read so far

Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

Ever since I finished reading this, I’ve been mentally kicking myself for not getting to it sooner. I LOVED IT. The most amazing characters I’ve ever read about!

New release you haven’t read yet but want to

Oh where do I begin?

  • War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
  • Legendary by Stephanie Garber
  • Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

  • Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
  • The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee

Ugh. I can’t wait!

Biggest disappointment of the year

I’m so upset about the first because after Wonder Woman, I really had high expectations from Batman but it was just average. Same goes for When Dimple Met Rishi.

Biggest surprise of the year

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I’d been avoiding reading this one because I didn’t quite like the cover but I finally caved when I heard that Spielsberg’s movie adaptation was being released. This book is fantastic! I enjoyed reading it so much! Can’t wait to watch the movie now (since I missed it when it was in the theatres).

Favorite new author

Mackenzi Lee

Even though I’ve only read one book by her, Mackenzi Lee goes straight on my autobuy list.

Your newest fictional crush

Your newest favorite character

I recently read the first two books in the McCall and Company series that fall under the Mystery/Humor genre and I loved Fu! Quite possibly the most hilarious character ever. You can check out my reviews of Workman’s Complication and Swollen  Identity.

A book that made you cry

So Near the Horizon by Jessica Koch

Well I didn’t really cry but this book almost did make me want to. It was just so freaking sad!

A book that made you happy

Swollen Identity by Rich Leder

Swollen Identity was the only thing that made me laugh in what turned out to be a pretty bad month for me. I loved reading it quite a lot!

Favorite book to film adaptation you’ve seen this year

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

This movie was EVERYTHING! I loved Love Simon! You can check out my Movie vs. Book Review.

Favorite post you’ve written this year

Most beautiful book you’ve bought this year

Well that’s easy since I’ve only bought one paperback this year, but luckily it looks gorgeous!

Legendary by Stephanie Garber

What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

War Storm by Victoria Aveyard

I need closure on this series and I want to finish reading it before I get any spoilers.

And that’s all for today! Hope you have a great day! Until next time –
